I need a small new 4mp camera, i choose a camera over the K750i.. I did some lookinga round and found these two the Olympus Verve and Sony DSC-s40.. my brother currently has an old sony 3.2 cam and i'm use to the sony interface, but i've seen photos produced ny olympus cameras and i'm very much impressed by the accurate colour i noticed sony camera's tend to be off especially in low light situations.. I'd like some thing stylish and compact yet witha reasonable price i can get both for around the same price but are there any other suggestions?.. i'm limiting myself to 300$ CDn both those two are around 279$ helpa any one please..

Do ever consider anything else? ;) The verve looks a winner to me!

mweb6161,
Between them, definitely Sony DSC-S40
It has 3x optical zoom AF-assist lamp, external flash support and 640x480 video resolution which the Olympus Verve doesn't.

i'm comsidering the sony bsc-s40, because of the carl zeiss lense and the 640x480 video, but what I've noticed with sonys is that the colour/saturation of pics arent always consistent.. I've seen photos taken by Olympus cameras and i'm very impressed, yet one factor i really consider is missing the 640x480 video, but other than that the design is more attractive to me, its thinner and more compact than the sony..

can anybody make me think otherwise on the sony's picture quality?..

TRicks.

I have used Sony most of the time and IMO picture quality is fine.

Taken with a Sony F88, macro, no flash, poor lighting at VGA.

xplicitpin0i,
Sony happen to do quite bad under indoor conditions while outdoor is just fine.
