Which Digital Camera is the best one to buy? This is going to be my first digital camera.I prefer Sony. I buy all the sony products. But not sure abt the cameras.I bought though the cam corder. Not the time for digital camera.I really liked the T1 model but some one suggested to wait for the new model.I waited and I didn't like the T3. But now I liked the T7.

Yesterday I was about to buy the new sony's dsc-t7 digital camera.I was almost abt to buy.But again thought I need to do little R&D. So what do you guys suggest? Shall I go for it or any suggestions from anyone. But I really liked the size man! Too cool...

Any ideas are appreciated...

Thanks

The T7 does look amazing, but the Nikon Coolpix 7900 is meant to be one of the best on the market at the moment, and costs less. It's probably bigger though, and I'm not 100% sure about quality, as I don't know much about cameras.

TRicks.

I heard from steve's digi forums that W7 is better than T7.I was a lot disappointed when I heard that?I really liked the size and style .Though I don't know more abt the quality.

It is very good but my concern is the size. And also my budget is $500 only.I am looking for compact one and I like sony too.I thought this T7 is the best. But again,I am only worried abt the battery life thats the only feature I didn't like, I am only hesitating for this.Actually I was almost there to buy @ circuit city.I really liked the style and size though....

t7 is not a "good" camera. i'd rather go for the sony p200 or canon ixus 40.
t7 just looks nice thats it. the lens is really small and zooming is very slow. also the memory cards are more expensive for sony cameras...

P200 is much cheaper and offers the same features if you wana go for a sony, a bit bigger than the t7 though.

but my recommendation would definitely be the ixus 40. is has got it all and uses sd cards.

Sorry for l8 reply but if u havent made a choice yet, go for olympus c-765. Simply amazing picture quality and features for the price. Mine was £150 with a 64mb and 128mb card. Has a 10x optical zoom and actually quite small.

Heres a few pics ive taken with it since ive had it (about 6 weeks).

The best cameras in terms of quality are DSLR models .... :)

Basically..Sony cams are expensive..
Have a look at Fuji Finepix s5100 or Panasonic lumix z15..
Personally i recommend Finepix s5100

The Fujifilm F10 is considered a great camera with the best image quality in its class. But it does not have an optical viewfinder, and uses xD memory cards. If these things don't bother you, it is a fantastic value. In the States, it can be purchased for under $300.00.

Right since I'm such a nice guy I'll do 'The A-List' from UK magazine 'Digital Camera'. The cameras are organised by price bracket.

Price/Price means RRP/Best Price
5MP = 5Megapixels. Remember! There is more to a digital camera than the number of megapixels, and you should never buy a camera based on number of megapixels alone.

Compact - £100-£350
Best: Nikon CoolPix 5900 - £250/£176 - 5MP

Your next 5 best options:
1) Pentax Optio S5n - £250/£230 - 5MP
2) Pentax Optio WP - £230/£175 - 5.2MP
3) Canon Digital Ixus 700 - £325/£274 - 7.1MP
4) Samsung Digimax V70 - £300/£294 - 7MP
5) Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z3 - £275/£182 - 4MP

Enthusiast - £350-£700
Best: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 - £450/£366 - 5MP

Your next 5 best options:
1) Sony DSC-F828 - £700/£569 - 8MP (IMO: This camera is overpriced. If you are willing to spend this much on a digital camera you should be considering a DSLR)
2) Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 - £350/£325 - 5MP
3) Konica Minolta DiMAGE A200 - £550/£369 - 8MP
4) Fujifilm FinePix F810 - £380/£236 - 6.3MP
5) Sony MVC-CD500 - £550/£448 - 5MP

SLR:
Best: Canon EOS 20D - £1270/£863 - 8.2MP

Your next best options:
1) Canon EOS 1DS Mark II - £5230/£4893 - 16.6MP
2) Canon EOS 300D - £900/£419 - 6.3MP
3) Nikon D2X - £3500/£3299 - 12.2MP
4) Nikon D70 - £999/£581 - 6MP
5) Canon EOS 1D Mark II - £3500/£2250 - 8.2MP
6) Canon EOS 350D - £800/£551 - 8MP
7) Nikon D70s - £900/£567 - 6MP

I am waiting for the Sony DSC-T5/R to be released in October. I do not need something amazing, unlike my mobiles, but something good and slim. Plus it looks gorgeous.
