View Full Version : Siemens cx70 Vs. Nokia 6020 Vs. Philips 755
hi...
I am looking to buy one of these phones:
Siemens cx70
Nokia 6020
Philips 755
I want a 65K color display and am dissapointed by 6020's screen size. However, the pixels/(cm squared) of nokia is a lot better than the other two. How much difference does that make?
Also want IrDA, USB, GPRS 10, VGA Cam. Anyone knowing about low light camera capabilities of these phones please to tell...
Overall which is the best and most reliable one to buy? Any other suggestions ($180-$280 range)
thnx
Pixels/cm2 is very important IMO. It defines the sharpness of the screen. In other words, a 132x176 screen on 3.5x4.3 cm is awful IMO. That is the case of CX70. If you prefer screen quality get 6020, otherwise CX70.
I would choose the 6020 over the CX70 cos the 6020 is a tried and tested typical nokia phone and should prove to be very reliable. The CX65 was not exactly a very reliable phone so dont know how much of an improvement the CX70 is. The phillips one looks interesting and seems to have a descent enough screen so it's worth considering.

The screen density on the 6020 may indeed be higher than the CX70's, but that doesn't mean picture quality is better.
Ultimately, on the CX70 you are displaying a maximum of 23232 pixels of detail, versus 16384 pixels on the 6020. So, picture quality is better on the CX70.
Yeah but pictures will look all pixallized and ugleh ;)
I would surely prefer 755-->thouch screen

They'll look worse when they're squashed into 128*128 pixels.;)
Actually if you don't hold the CX70 so close to your face, you won't be able to notice the pixelation.
well guys... thanx to all, but this doesn't give me a very clear picture! anyway, i have a few more queries--
firmware on cx65 has been improved over various versions, it now supports 3D imaging. Then except PTT what is the USP of cx70?
the philips 755 touch screen responds to touch other than its pen. Any consequences of careless holding, pocketing on the screen? what is the long term reliability of philips mobiles compared to siemens (nokias obviously in a higher league here!)??
is there any other phone in the same category with similar features in the $180-$280 range that could be a better choice than these three...?
~really confused still
:eyes:
nipun,
IMHO the CX70 would still be better for 3D imaging because it comes pre-loaded with 3D Java games, and has a 3D "phone pilot". If those don't matter to you the CX65 would be fine.
I suggest you compare the screen quality of the CX70 and 6020 in a store for yourself.:)
The price of the sony ericsson K700i should soon fall within your price range if it isn't already. That's definitely better than all the other phones mentioned.
There's also the K500i which supports 3D gaming.
Well.. thanx again for all the advice. But Nokia has made my life simpler. I have decided to wait for the Nok 6230i and spend that xtra buck to get one of the coolest phones in that price band!
any comments on the 6230i are welcome
Well, it's a definite improvement on your previous choices :)
