Hello all! My first post here!
I'm seriousely going to get either a creative muvo but cant decide between the N200 and the V200 they are basically the same but..
The N200 is not a thumbdrive pull out.
The V200 is..
This is VERY convinent and as a student I could really use this for projects and stuff.
however
The N200 has line in.
The V200 does not..
This is a very very good feature as i wanna 'steal' the soundtracks from some games that rock! (Singapore doesn't ship them but if they did I'd buy)
also,
The N200 is much smaller.
The V200 is quite big compared.
Colour and memory is not an issue cos im getting white 1GB either way
I'm very big on design and stuff so I would get the smaller one but.. I like the thumbdrive..
However I could use a small short wire my brother has to hang from my com usb port.. (seriousely this short =-----------------------------=)
The V200 also has an ugly dark blue border around the screen but the N200 blends in well being clear and white
N200:

V200:

I would get an ipod shuffle except for 2 main reasons.. NO SCREEN and 1GIG FOR THAT.. if it was like 256 or 128 i would get it cos i can memorize what is on it in what order.. But 1gig doesn't make sense.. So please do not mention the ipod shuffle please.. But I do want a mac mini!
Any suggestions on which to get? Please tell me! Thanks!
It basically boils down to which advantages matter more to you.
V200 for your head, N200 for your heart. The built-in thumbdrive would be really useful for you; I've used my old MP3 thumbdrive in school as well and it's very convenient. IMHO the N200 looks much better though.
I think the V200 makes most sense for you. Cheaper, almost identical feature set, built-in thumbdrive and it doesn't look that bad.:)

Hey! My dad just got a N200 for himself! It's really cool!
The screen border is black, unlike the one in the picture in my previous post so it doesnt look as nice, but still cool.
It is vey very tiny and very very light, even with the AAA battery.
However it is not too light to die from felling fake.
But the jogdial feels very hard and not very easy to turn.
it comes with a line in wire and the usb wire, a neck strap that is too long, stock earphones that are probably lousy but look better than my brother's muvo2 1.5GB stocks and it has the player which is is quite obvious and comes with a non rechargeable energizer battery.. Haha
I think I will follow suit and get the N200
Bun im still considering the V200 cos it is a thumbdrive type for convinence sake.
The N200 is also $20 more expensive
Then again.. thanks to ghibli from another method of communication, i think i could get the V200 due to my convinece sake.. and use my dad's N200 for the line in.. then put the line in stuff into my computer and then into my V200..
Its not convinent i know, but i wont use it THAT often anyway
hi there, i am also wondering which to buy.
imho i would like to have the v200 instead but experience tells me that although with a usb built-in, it doesn't mean u got the space to plug the whole mp3 player in. most of the time its either too crowded or its too damaging to the player itself (in the case of the laptop where they didnt design the ports for u to plug in a player sticking out).
n200 seems much smaller. and the line-in is a plus. probably the small size of n200 will allow me to just throw in a short USB cable in my mp3 carrier (my beloved oakley pouch) :p
KrazyGreen,
Instead, why don't you try to stretch to the new 4GB iPod mini? It's now just S$348.:)
Doesn't really make much sense to get either a 1GB N200 or V200 at $329.
hmm mini sounds good too. can it store as a hdd?

i am also deciding over the two models...almost came to the decision of getting zen micro to end all the never-ending comparison between n200 and v200..if n200 is chosen for it's slimness and line-in recording function, what if the line-in recording quality is lousy? i thot v200 is better wif the thumbdrive cuz i'm also a student...the extra usb cable is just too easy to forget to bring along..but yet again..i am tempted to get the newest model at least for 20 bucks more..why not..really in a delimma...i rilli thot of getting zen micro(5GB) in the end..but a hundred bucks more for 4 more GB(planning to get 1GB if i am getting n200 or v200) is it rilli worth it? is it too much memory? heard creative coming up with a newer model soon, is it true? last question, what is the difference between v200 and the creative tx fm?

Derk
the misconception about the V200 is that some computers have usb plugs at the side or front of the cpu. Therefore it is not stuck in the back all squeezed up. You also said that the usb plug can get damaged.. however, this is the same as the wire you use for the N200
I would get the N200 in your case but in mine, my dad has it.. So I just take a few more steps and I can get lined in stuff in my V200
Ghibli
You see.. Theres this thing with ipod.. Whatever songs go in.. Cannot come out.. Well onto another computer that is.. you can still delete songs but cannot move them out of the device
Also.. the ipod is too heavy and bulky unlike the tiny N200 and V200. I also plan to use the mp3 player for sporty stuff and while I travel home eveyday.. I climb all escalators and walk very fast while weaving rapidly through the rest of the slow moving public.. This would cause the hardisk to shake and the music to skip.. The hardisk would also get damaged
Roxycream
well.. the main difference is zen micro is hardisk and as i just explained.. if you lead an active lifestyle the hardisk will get damaged and skip.
the line in will most likely be good as my old old old old stone age md player's line is is superb as well as my wood age tape player
the difference between the TxFm and the V200 is the look.. if you prefer the sporty look you should go for the TxFm but if you are more classy and fashion realated you should get the V200 which is much sleeker
I also think one is lighter and the size is abit different too not only shape
Well now ive got enough money to get one but i still cannot decide between the two
but think i will get the V200 because my dad has the N200 and i can use it as well as some other more troublesome methods for line ing in stuff into the V200
Also the look is different from the displayed pics
the N200's frame around the screen is black and the V200 has a dark blue frame which doesnt really fit very well
both dont go well but which is nicer
WHICH ONE??? :eyes:

oooooH great
i have decided to get the V200 as my dad has the N200 and i can use his line in and transfer it to my own V200
only thing is..
now he says he wants to buy me an ipod mini.. (this means that i dont have to pay myself)
his friend told him that they are selling the old one for S$299 so he wants to buy me one, knowing that i want an mp3 player.. thing is i prefer the new 6GB one which is 400+
so now im stuck between V200, ipod mini old, ipod mini new 4GB, ipod mini new 6GB..
GAH
who knew mp3 player shopping would be so troublesome!

Just a little bit more info:
============================
--<< N200 >>--
Pros:
Line in
smaller form
cleaner design (in a way), but the V200 is nowhere near bad-looking either
Cons:
Uses B-type USB (which needs an extra cord for connections)
A VERY audible background hiss whenever the backlight is turned on.
============================
--<< V200 >>--
Pros:
Machine seperation
The sound chip has been enhanced a little bit from the N200, in terms of bass response. (for the actual player, along with the upgraded earphones)
Cons:
Dimentions are a tad larger (but nevertheless small)
no line-in
============================
To me, I'd almost go for the N200, except that it has a natural tendency to hiss on the backlight, and its not quiet either, u can hear it through the music. due to that very reason, i'd sacrafise line-in for some undisturbed music quality on the V200. I use backlight alot, so no point in getting a good music player if it will hiss during operation.
=======================
Verdict: I'm gonna buy a V200 1GB
hi..im also a singapore student.. im considerin between Zen nano plus and Muvo Tx Fm..So can u guys pls tell me the pros and cons of both mp3 players? :eyes: PLS REPLY ASAP cos im buyin by the end of june hols..

I recently got the Creative Zen Nano Plus, I absolutely love it!
It has an FM radio and you can record songs streight off the radio!
It has a cord so you can copy streight from your cd player to your MP3!
It holds 2 hundred some sogs which is plenty for me
I got the 512MB one and though it isnt the biggest version (the bigger one is 1gb, basically it holds more)
It totally kicks ass for $109
Buy it buy it buy it!!!
Also it comes with a sports arm band which is nifty for jogging.
comes with 1 AAA battery (yes it takes batteries)
LOVE IT!! :rotate:
thanx april! thanx alot for ur advice! i appreciate it.. At least u r not like the bastards out there :D

I also loved the MuVo...until it died on me 3 days later.
It basically stops playing after a few seconds. When
you turn it back on, it goes to the same spot in the
same song. Anybody have ideas?

@ rdumaran:
I had that happen to me, but it's more like when I turn it on, it shuts off automatically. I have the NX version, and it just so happens that I've been treating the play button very badly, so it gets stuck at times. no not the actual clicking part, but the sensor under the button. when it happens i just repeatedly press the button, until the sensor lets go. Yes, it sounds like it's a bad player but I HAVE had it for 3 YEARS and this just started happening about a month ago.

KrazyGreen, correction. the iPod CAN DELETE SONGS. delete it from your pc in iTunes and update your iPod by plugging it in and it'll automatically delete the song :)
EDIT:
opps. wrong interpretation. haha. when your iPod has the disk use function on, you can copy the songs. :p but it has a different name. haha
I got n200 v200 ... and my friend owns a nano plus ... n200 & ,nano plus are same ... and if you let me chose n200 and v 200 i take n200 ... p/s USB cable is inculded in the n200 box

was about to buy one, but when i saw it, it really looks cheap. i mean, its too plastic to me, looks like it would break so easily and shows no quality at all. is this just me or does anyone else think so? what other alternatives would you suggest besides v200 or n200. im open for any brand (reputable), just for a 256M mp3 player

Hello all,
A friend of mine recently bought me a muvo v200 from Hong Kong, and I was wondering if you guys would know where I can find the armband made specifically for the V200. I did some checking and can only find the product from websites that are in asia. Would anyone be willing to do me a favor in trying to get one from me if it is available in your country. I would pay for it and a little more for your trouble. Let me know. Thanks.
Here is the link to the armband I am looking for ...
