Hi
Every time i go backwards or forwards between links on this site (links to topics, subjects or even link to main forums list page) the page automatically refreshes itself making for a long wait between pages. Doesn't happen on any other forums i visit. Is there a setting change i can apply?
I'm using Opera 7.54u1. I believe this doesn't happen with the new beta version, but am told that certain sites force a page reload when clicking back/forward. Fatwallets.com is an example of a site that also displayed this behaviour but did some very quick fix to prevent this happening.

Could you do the same here possibly? I'm reluctant to use beta versions.

Thanks
:)

Netscape is stone cold dead since a long time in my eyes. I would strongly consider Mozilla Firefox as a Eternally better alternative.

I use Opera 7.x :)
I like Opera a lot too, have been using it for the last three years, problem is that it adheres almost too well to strict rules of html and thus have problems on some sites :(
Unfortunately, among those was my internet bank, so lately i have been using only Firefox and IE..

Ha, IE... I hate IE. It always crashes on me!

Don´t think it has ever crashed on me actually.. Firefox and Opera are faster though, and have tabs, which really is a blessing IMO :)

Karim, ThreeX,
opera is definately the best for me,the bad it has that it saves only html, and firefox for exmple saves the whole page, creating a folder for the images.i usually have both on

firefox is an linux-based(i think) open source browser, and hopefully will challange IE's dominance.

Don't think it's Linux-based. I think it was developed for Windows and then adapted to Linux.

Thanks for your suggestions.
I've been through most of the browser catalogue.
after using IE for years, i tried firefox which introduced me to tabbed browsing and good security and a much more pleasant user interface.
Maxthon has shedloads of features but sits on IE. I must admit though i haven't used netscape since my AOL dial up days many years ago - that was enough to put me off.
But after using Opera (now using version 8 beta so the refreshing problem has been solved) it feels like all the other browsers are missing something. The biggest distinction between Opera and Firefox (which i still like as a browser) is that to get added functionality you have to download and install extensions (third party i think) which may or may not work. A lot of these features Opera has as standard for example session saving.
What i would like to see is a program which detects all the browsers you have installed and can update and synchronise the favourites/bookmarks of each browser.

I still have to occasionally use IE though for my internet bank too.

I don't know what I would do without tabs!

and I mean that as in browsing tabs, not drugs.. *twitches, slaps face*

I've used Opera since version 2 something (using the beta now), and it's the best (http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html#winspeed)!
