Right, what should i pick?

Both are £300.

Ipod: Design - white headphones...it's an IPOD? lol , firewire, touchpad, slim, BUT have to follow the market?...5th generation mid 2005?

Iriver: lots of functions, FM radio, USB Host, colour screen, Windows explorer transfer. BUT design - massively thick?

What do you guys think? :)

dude im young and have no worries!

its not that bad for me to spend a little more on something.

but sometimes its very stupid, example:
bought a pair of burberry swimming trunks on saturday. ?100. and i only swim like 3 times a year....

thats wastefull, i'm actually not too proud of myself right now:cry:

The 40GB version is about £200 over here...

But anyway between the two, I'd pick the iPod. The iRiver has no style at all next to it, and that colour screen is just a battery life-sucking gimmick.

Mowbli, I think the Ipod is a safer pick... but I'm not sure about the iRivers battery life time. Is it also user exchangable?

TRicks.

The iriver battery life is 16 hours compared to 12 of Ipod.

The only concern with the Ipod is that i ll probably end of wanting the 5th generation when i comes out... with the iRiver i wouldnt be worried about new models....

hmmmm...

Mowbli, plus, iRiver has color screen and still the battery time is better.

Yeah i did... Imagine the annoying feeling i got when my unit was faulty and they couldnt replace it as they dont have any in stock - i was given a full refund... but the atrac music i encoded for over a week... :spy:

Back to the old NetMD at the moment, hmmm 5 albums on 1 disc only... i m really missing something..... :p thats why i started looking again...

Too bad :(
But don't get the iPod. I had one and shifted to the Sony Vaio, trust me, the iPod is not that fab when you think about it. Especially the lousy battery life...

The battery isn't that lousy... 12hrs will last on most of you trips. The UI is so easy to use and it's well organised, that's why I'm pro Ipod. But the iRiver looks pretty cool and the color screen would turn some heads :D

get the H340 - color screen sucks a bit of battery but it will play AVI videos

For the same price, I'd take the H340 without a question.

Or get a 60GB ipod with video support, larger screen size,20 hours battery life and slimmer design for a pound cheaper: £299

i love when people reply with the wrong info

I have the iriver and let me tell you it dumps on the ipod in terms of sound quality, battery life, you get FM radio with presets, you can record via line in and best of all you can watch full length movies on it (not even the new ipod video can boast that). the screen is about as crystal clear for it's size as you could wish. what do you get with the ipod, a gimmick and not much else.

ipods are for clueless clones who don't know any different
iriver's are for those that want a little more from their player

*rant over*
