Hey guys i've been posting this on forums all day but nobody is replying back and I figure that there are so many cell phone experts so there might be someone who can help me out related to Windows software.

Anyways, Earlier today I was about to play THE Exorcist on my computer through windows media player but it showed me an error:

Ok now I know what you're thinking. "Use another media player!" Well yeah I could but that's not REALLY the problem. Anyways I tried re-installing the Windows Media Player(the latest 10th version) but it then gave me the same error.

I then thought of updating windows so I double clicked the windows updates icon and the browser opened up(IE) but nothing really showed up. In short the page was blank.

Then I pasted the link to my Opera brower but it said that I cannot open it with another browser so it asked me to goto Start>Help and Support and enable and up to date windows thing.Anyways I tried that but now that won't open as well.

I tried uninstalling Windows Media Player so I went to Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs but there isn't even an icon in that list nor there is in Start>Programs.

Ok , So What Do I do????? It kinda seems like a big deal. What if my windows has messed up. Anybody have a solution?

Seem like ur Windows Media Player has been exorcized

Sorry :(
I really dun know  what has happened but the easiest way to solve all this is to reinstall the the Windows media player if possible or the whole Windows. ( I know it is tedious ).

Maybe someone with more knowledge in this will help u.

No I don't think it's exorcised or anything , lol. I tried re-installing Windows Media Player but it gives me the same error. I don't want to re-install windows, i'm sure there is a solution to this problem.

It could be due to the fact that your com was infected by a certain virus that will tend to replace it's file type. You need to re-install windows to correct the problem.

Try and get the VLC media player...(google for video lan client) If that doesn't work then consider MR_Dexterous 's option...

You need to re-install windows to correct the problem

You make it sound so easy.lol. Scan with an anti-virus if thats the case.

One solution is to use system restore back to the point where it did work.

To uninstall and revert to the previous version of Windows Media, sound like you just installed series 10..go to CONTROL PANEL, ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS, on the top tick the box - Show updates. It ll be there. Tried and tested here!

To unistall Windows Media as a whole. on the left side of ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS windows theres a left tab thats says ADD/REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONENTS..click that and select WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER.
- I cant remember if you can uninstall windows media as a whole here...but the option is there.

Good Luck and BTW where did you get that windows UI from?
