That would be Eldar. This is a Russian forum and he is Russian and most likely will not return until tuesday because its a holiday here until then.

I've been observing this forum since the beginning of the year and what I notice was that, there are too many moderators not doing their jobs well, because in the forum that I come from, the mod is suppost to answer most of the more complex questions that members usually can't answer. A mod should be more qualified in the forum in particuler.

well, its a good job that i'm not a mod then. because if you asked me what the meaning of life is, i would tell you that its "42".

don't underestimate our mods. they do a good job if you appreciate what they do (eg inspecting all around the forums to see if anything is 'out of place' , answering lots of PM's(remember that they have to answer far more than people such as you or i), moving threads, etc). i personally am not aware of them not answering complex questions. what sort of "complex questions" don't they answer? http://www.howardforums.com/images/smilies/thinking.gif

don't see where you're coming from.

Actually I picture this forum like a lecture hall. We have members of the hall and the mods of the hall should be the one helping out the members instead of the members helping out themselves.
The members can help too, but the main hit is on the moderator since the mods will know more then the members since they were qualified for this career in the first place.
In fact, most of the mods in my forum are the mature users who had proven themselves helpful in the past.

I also like the phrase (mature users) some of our mods are quite young (compared to me anyway) but i have always been impressed by their maturity and knowledge

its not a career. they don't get paid for it! their only incentive is to be willing to help people out......and thats what they do. if you think about all the posts they respond to relative to others, then i don't see what your beef is.

Sorry for mentioning the wrong term. Status would be more approprate.
I can see that you're a very active member here, that's why you can notice more activities than me. I only started observing this forum a few weeks back and what I can see is that the mods are not giving out their full potentials that's all, they could be more active somewhere else I wouldn't know unless I'm a very season user like you.
Bye and have a good day

appearences are deceptive ;). there's a lot that they do behind the scenes.....much of it to benefit us all.

I'm not sure how to take this... I think we do a pretty darn good job here! We do lots of dirty work as well...we don't get paid for it, we just like talking about phones and helping each other out!

I don't know what forums you come from, but all the ones I have ever been to are made for the different members to help each other out and the mods to make sure everything stays in order and to make sure people abide by the rules. The mods here do a very good job at what they are suppose to do.

I get the picture of moderator mentioned by MR_Dexterous need lots of money or have many chances to be able to try every phone. This kind moderator could also be from ppl who work in a phone shop. I think this kind of moderators are rare.

That is why we cannot expect moderator to know almost everything, this forum is good enough to have members to be able to help out & give their opinion. :)

yes, also its not a race to get to answer all the "complex" questionns first. considering that there are far more ordinary users on M-R than moderators, whats the chances of a mod getting to answer the questions even 1% of the time. they also have there own lives to lead.

I personally approve of the mods on this site, they get the Benji seal of approval. It's all about keeping a cool head and dealing with people fairly, they are here to keep order. They do it well, and they are friendly too. :)

Edit : Oh and Eldar's doing a great job maintaining this site, as are the others.:)

who is he? Apart from someone that apparently finds it funny mentioning Iraq together with bombs as his location and thinks that the mods don't do their job right... :spy:
