Hi have you told the xda 2 to receive all incoming beams.... i had that problem for a while goto: Start > Settings > Connection > Beam and then tick 'Receive all incoming beams.'

the XDA has a limited bluetooth profile, and there is no way around it. believe me i have tried!!

Wow, too bad... I thought only Sharp was dumb enough to do that, not O2 !

page 102 section 7.6 details the limitations, some phones are fussier than others in this respect.

mweb6161, excellent device indeed, but Bluetooth is very important to me and him, so if it doesn't I'm going to reconsider it, maybe a 9300 ;)

I can't see any specific mention of BT restrictions in the XDA 11s manual. Says you should be able to send AND receive files to and from the phone.

I have not had time to try it yet so can't confirm one way or the other.

The problems and restrictions seem to be based around compatability problems with other devices, difficult to lay the blame at whose door in this respect, see here http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=537450

I sent a file to my mates mobile phone yesterday but he couldn't open it as the file was too large. and then i tried to send a file to another mobile (was the same model too) and it wouldn't send. seems odd to me :rotate:

well, one thing you can do is update the bluetooth build on the XDA to bluetooth vers 1.0.0 build 3500. Doing this will overcome a lot of problems, particularly with BT headsets. check settings > connections > bluetooth > about to see what build vers you have installed

Hi,

With the xda 2 you have to set the setting 2 "discoverable" not ON or OFF as this allows other devices to find and connect to the Xda2.

However to send files from the xda2 to other devices, you need to find the file in "File Explorer". Once you have located the file you wish to press and hold on the filename and a menu will appear (cut, copy, etc.) it should have an option saying "Beam File..." press that and that will take you to the beam file area.

Ensure the Device you wish to exchange with has bluetooth mode swiched ON or set to DISCOVERABLE. The XDA2 should now search for devices and the device names it finds will appear on screen. To send just tap the name of your chosen device (note: your device name is set in the bluetooth screen).
All you have 2 thn do is accept it onto your chosen device and that should be it.

If you are unsure of you have any other questions regarding the XDA2 post a reply to this message...
