Won't it be great if we can display our signatures?
I've seen in Howard forums for example, people having really cool signatures below their posts :rotate: (Even graphical ones  )
I would like to be able to display our signatures below our posts and replys :2jump:
I know it's not going to be an easy task setting out all this, however this is only my suggestion and you all need not take it so seriously :D

I'm against it...
Some posts really look messy, just because of those signatures...
and it slows down the forum and the loading time of a page...

Exciting700,
they also getting uploadin' forum slow ......
I'm also against. I think all of these smileys make it messy enough... ;)
It would be a good idea IF they ban pictures, only text... otherwise, it's a n0-n0 :)
nah, not even a text signature.... it's just so messy at the bottom of every post. Better to make it clean and simple!
We used to have signatures ages ago, but Eldar disabled them because some members put their URLs in their signatures.
Ghibli, i d image pictures would be the biggest problem. :)

you mean like at HoFo where some members have images and videos that are half the size of the page? really don't know why the admins just don't do away with it.....its no wonder why HoFo takes about 3 hours to load.
A bigger avatar limit!!!!. (but you allready knew that) 75x75 30k. thankyou :D

because he is a mod...
because he is a mod...
and where is the sense of that? if i read the signatures of the mods then i would say: DELETE them as they are just stupid statements which do not have a sense!
I can't stand signatures, deactivating them is always the first thing I do after I register to any forum. And they're especially annoying on pages like HoFo, where some users have the urge to show their favourite anime sequences to everybody as GIF-animations (with files sizes >500K...).
I think it's a great decision to deactivate them. Just keep it this way...

any chance of bigger avs...?

Memzees signature is "If you have any questions regarding the site, its usage, or anything else, just ask - I'd be more than happy to help. "
I think that is very helpfull, nice, and polite, qualities i value highly!!
I like sigs, it gives one some small chance to express ones thoughts and individuality.

i only like text signatures too. I hate those forums where you spend 10 minutes scrolling down just to get to the next post...

exactly my thoughts :)

good, as long as this is only valid for mods and not for any user!?!?
don't you think that maybe a user who's not mod coulnd't have interesting thoughts, ideas, links to useful tips or whatever?
for me a mod has the "power" to clean through a forum, keep it sleek and clear and to keep order. but he does not have the power to establish rights or rules concerning freedom of expression. so having the possibility of signature means to give this possibility (even if only text) to ANYBODY. keeping it for the mods only means abusing this right and to rule out any user!
for me not FAIR! keep it this way, but i have my opinion about the restrictions which i keep in mind when posting.
You can express yourself fully, freely, and without restriction in the FLAME section, i look forward to reading your thoughts and opinions!!.:)

but he [mod] does not have the power to establish rights or rules concerning freedom of expression.
as a matter in fact he can. If the so called freedom of expression implicates the lost of someone else's freedom of expression or that disrespects somebody in a way.
You can't use racism dialogs here, for example, and yes, that's a limit to your freedom of expression made by the mods and administrators.
and you cannot? or maybe a "no matter how old you are, there's always something good to look forward to" is not enough for FLAME, it just needs to be given to anybody...
peace and let the death rest...:o

wabre, aren't you getting a little off point?

wait a second, you misunderstood something greatly here! nobody was for a pro-racism or dubious expression in signatures. there is always a mod or admin who will change or delete these type of signatures. the fact that we don't even get the possibility to implement a signature is not fair. but we have to read the mods sigs which do in most of the cases not include any useful infos. that's it!
wabre, aren't you getting a little off point?
you think i do? well, my point is the signature i'm actually not allowed to insert because of dubios conditions!
but i stop here...you can shut me up by closing the thread...:jump:
Sigs are not strictly about giving info, it's about expression, like it or lump it, it is a mods option on M-R, i changed mine in YOUR honour!!:D

wow, obrigado! well, then i could use you as my "shout-it-out-loud"-tool to write in your sig: I LOVE WILL & GRACE!
:rotate:
Nah "i love Hope & Faith" stands a much better chance, Perhaps all the mods should have a link to the forum rules page as their Sig, it might assist members in not making unwarrentied infractions.
S-S, you got me there

I don't really like the idea of Signatures on these forums. I think without signatures the forums look really neat and tidy.
Though I would love to have a bigger avatar

i think bigger picture with no sig would be a good idea. only maybe 75x75 wouldnt harm loading times to much as long as u limit the file to say 35kb? only a idea.
Fat chance Phil, i have been banging on about bigger Avs on here for years, with zero success, there is a lot of baloney put about regarding Avs affecting page loading time, i challenge anyone to provide any links to such sites that are affected by that old wives tale!!.

forum i help run has 150x150 and u dont notice it
infact on HoFo i have 5 small pictures in my sig
HoFo takes about 10seconds to load for me including all them pictures, i think it would only effect someone if they dont have BB. but that % is so small now.
we really need to make the forum more colourful and more eyecatching. (not in a mad way)
To be honest, I like the avatar size here, it's not taking too much of the page & takes lesser time to load :)

75x75 would be perfect, as i cant even see what some peoples are ment to be
75x75 would be perfect
I agree on that 100%. There so many cool avatars which are oversized for our forum.
Second what I want is sigs for everyone. They could be in minimal size only and still the post would be tidy.
And my last wish is to put some new smilies.
I'm been in a board where signatures are neat and tidy. Restrictions like only 3 lines of text. And the font size is only 10 and below. When image is used only one line of text can be used with the image. And the image is restricted to a small dimension and the file size is no more than 50kb. Having this restrictions makes the signatures look neat - this stops making the signature significantly larger that the users post
Though the downside is Mods have to warn/modify the signatures every time someone violates the rule. Added responsibility for the mods :D
