Exciting700, nice pic. Just be careful when you take direct sun light, sometimes there is a black spot. (Because the current flowing in the ccd is too much, it will damage the sensor.) :) k700i was a nice model!

Ghibli,
I pity your Husky
It must be very uncomfortable with so much fur in Singapore
Those shots are actually good even if they are small.
could you take a bigger picture of that birde-num?
That bird looks really funny
McKinley,
Yes, but she's shed her winter coat and now has a full-time summer coat, although it's still thicker than most dog coats.
The colour saturation is good on the outdoor pics, but some of them suffer from the 'goldfish-bowl' effect.
I post more pics later.:)

Does anyone have any samples from the d500 or 6630? i would love to see these, if anyone would be nice enough

joeb_uk
Well, no one can not accusing me for not using the 6630.
The first one is with night shot mode off and the second one is with night shot mode on. Unfortunately I was a bit unsteady with my hands on the second shot.
thanks alot mck! very kind of you :)

joeb_uk,
I had to compress them to be able to upload them here so I think those shots look worse than it does in reality.
They are both 600kb big per image
oh right! yeah should be quite abit of difference, thanks for the samples tho
I'm really impressed by the S2300 pics.

The camera lens was abit dusty as you can see how the lights are reflected, however that does not keep me from noticing how well the K700i can function in the night without a nightmode.

First picture is made with a 6600, second with SX1.
I think both have same camera quality but 6600's nightmode is far better.

Nokia 7600. Nothing special but gives an okay idea of the camera quality.
As you can see i'm not the best photographer :D
scott_b_, They actually look nice IMO, not bad at all. It's a cold comfort for that annoying shutter sound :D

Frosty :D taken with a S700i taken at 640x480 (or wotever it is) cuz i cant afford a 128MSD yet :D
s700 has a good cam. that was a nice, sharp pic. no noise, no blurriness, no muted colours, no inaccuracy in focusing. good stuff. my 6630 suffers from all those symqtoms

03-01-2005, 13:31
i have noticed my s700i pictures are miles better them my old 7610, i think i made the rite choice for a change :)
has anyone got any pics posted from a V800? i would of thought they where the same as a s700i but u never no :)
also them M900 pic's are really good, but ive seen pics from a gx30 that are the same type of quality? thats only 1MP (or is it 1.3MP?) where as the M900 is supposed to be 2MP?
Exciting700
03-01-2005, 13:34
The Lostprophet,
The camera on the M900 is 1.3 mega-pixels:)
You have the choice to use intepolation technology to blow it up to 2MP and the quality is respectable(Still better than most 1 Mega-Pixel camera phones in quality)
Pictures from the M900 are ALMOST on a par with the 6630, but it does have the macro mode advantage. shown up well in the flower pics.
The Lostprophet
03-01-2005, 13:43
Exciting700 ah rite i see, thought i was going mad thinking it was 2mp (new i read it some how :D)
so its like the k700i its only VGA but u can resize the pics to MP? which i really dont see the point in :S which is why even my S700i pics are only 640x480 as its the same quality but not as big as that sometimes screws it up...less u own a 7610 then all the pics are mp size even in the poorest quality!
Exciting700
03-01-2005, 13:47
The Lostprophet,
You will be surprise:)
Take a look at my K700i photos in this thread and you will notice that taking at the extended mode brings you better pictures:) (The colors and white balance are better)
That's why I won't use the VGA mode anymore.
The Lostprophet
03-01-2005, 13:59
Exciting700
here is the difference between K700i and S700i i have just taken these pics at the same time standing in the same place....k700i is attualy quite poor compaired to the s700i....both are on normal settings and i havn't changed a thing :)
Exciting700
03-01-2005, 14:03
The Lostprophet,
Your K700i lens has dust on it and you need to clean it:D
The S700i is using a CCD module similer to the M900's and GX32's.
However my point was, the K700i can take good VGA images in it's class and the extended mode is relatively better:)
The S700i and M900 has protections for the lens wherebout the GX32 and K700i doesn't have.
The Lostprophet
03-01-2005, 15:15
*gets cleaning his k700i lens* :D
The Lostprophet, has anyone got any pics posted from a V800? i would of thought they where the same as a s700i but u never no
S700 uses CCD lens while V800 uses CMOS lens. S700 is sharper and clearer.

here are some D500 shots -
imo , the top 3 cameraphones which i have seen so far in order go -
1)sharp gx30
2)samsung D500/ SE S700

copo, thanks - ur 6630 can capture quite nicely too.
out of curiousity - what is the screen size of the 6630
skillhata

so is it basically almost the same size as the k700 screen ?

The above 6630 shots are blurry or too soft...(sorry for commenting) (But this was what I noticed...)
Check this out>>>
Taken with my M900!
I set image mode to "Sharp:<^>" (Not the brand "Sharp" but "sharpness")
Check out the macro shots expecially, the M900 is pro at that!

This are being captured at 2MP (For a typical 1.3 MP intergrated camera to be able to capture 2MP is just facinating thanks to the intepolation technology implemanted)
EDIT: Notice that the M900's camera review the details clearly and the image doesn't look too soft unless I set it to "Soft=(~)"

Yes, cause the 6630 unfortunately has no macro mode. I'm still hoping for that additional lense... ;)
But the first shot and the sea shots are quite good.
so is it basically almost the same size as the k700 screen ?
Resolution-wise, yes... nearly, but at the same time the pixels are larger than the K700i, meaning that the physical size of the 6630 is a bit bigger, and that images are not as clear. But the 6630 is still a good screen, and is very bright.
My 6630 pics aren't as nearly as good as the ones I've seen here :( :(
The fourth pic was just a bunch of donuts sitting on a bench in the subway...very strange

I know that the K700i does not have a brightness control for its LCD(But the LCD is bright enough).
However I was wondering hows the one on the Nokia 6630, does it also have a contrast settings.
Karim, do you know?
Btw, mind posting some of your 6630 shots?

I think the S700i captures better pictures than the 6630.
I'm not really sure but most reviews claims so.

So far only Eldar's review says that:)
But GSM arena had tested the camera on the 6630 alone and still say that the S700i's better:up:

odelsteken,
Congragulations;)
Exciting700, thanks. It's a really great phone so far... only down side so far is that Vodafone has locked the themes, so I'm stuck with the red one!
odelsteken, wow, congrats! are you using it on UMTS?
Actually yes I am. Since it didn't cost me anything extra I thought why not have the network coverage for both 3G and 2G... according to some tests, here in Sweden the Vodafone 3G coverage is pretty good on the countryside where the normal 2G isn't... strange, isnt it?! ;)
As I bought it contract free but with a business credit card they gave me a mix of their businesss and private 3G compaign they have right now; 120min free cross-network per month + unlimited free video calls within Vodafone until january 31st 2006.
Does anyone have any samples from the d500 or 6630? i would love to see these, if anyone would be nice enoughsearch this tread and u will see a lot of samples
OK, here we are... four pictures taken today with the e1000 at the highest resolution (1,2Mpx). I've done nothing with the settings, so there's room for improvement!
IMO, they're not as good as the 1,3 or 2mpx cams out there (6630, s700, d500, M900 etc) but they're OK. No phonecam can meet quality of the digicam :p

hows the video capture on the e1000
Haven't tried it out that much, but it seems OK when watching a recorded video on the screen! I'll test it later on...
Otherwise I don't regret changing to the Moto... it's a fantstic phone, sound quality is awsome and the fact that you can change alomst everything you want makes it perfect for me. The only downsides is its Vodafone branding and the battery talk time.... It's said to be only 2hrs, but I've had the phone running and playing all day and still the battery bar is full! :)

I'm trying to get some good comparision shots to get an idea of the quality of the S700i.
I'm going to try a D500 and a 7610 at the weekend, and try and get a GX30 from somewhere.
Here is an indoor shot taken with my S700i and Fuji S7000, quite good really, the S700i is noisier and seems to have made the wood darker, but not bad detail wise. I tried an outdoors one but it's quite windy and I couldn't get still shot.
It's quite and overcast day, I forgot to use Cloudy white balance mode.

I'll do my best, but it is hard as you get control on features on some phones that you don't on others, and they don't give you all the settings. I know the S700i is F4, but I can't control the ISO, so I can leave the camera on Aperture priority at F4 and auto ISO, the focal length seems to be around 35mm equivilent but I'm not certain. The D500 is F2.6 and you have ISO control, so that will be interesting, don't know focal length for that one either.

these are some pics from my 6630. some of them have been edited using noise removal software. i did this because that software also reduces the file size and makes uploading quicker. WARNING: the quality of pics obtained from the phone is not like this. There is significant amounts of noise in the captured image, but i guess if you can use something to make them look better - why not?

can you tell me what firmware version (key in *#0000#) you have, and wether the version has an operators firmware on it. and can you tell me wether you are shrinking the photographs from full resolution and then uploading them?
i have had mine exchanged now too and still pic quality is same. i am with orange in the uk. sometimes also the phone suddenly says memory card not present when it clearly is. this happens in the exchanged one too. i feel as though something is wrong. maybe you have better indoor lighting - we have these cheapo energy efficient ones that emit a sort of yellow light. please get in touch quick as i think i may be returning it (its still less than 2 weeks old)

so here are some more pics ive taken, a variety you will see (i have tried to be fair). None of these have been edited in any way. they are straight off the phone. you can see noise is quite a problem indoors. which is quite pathetic really as most photos are taken indoors anyway. you will see that activating night mode (nm) indoors does make an improvement. However, activating night mode tends to make the picture a lot more blurry if you have shaky hands and also the shutter lag is longer, so the improvement (in the way of noise reduction and more detail) can easily be offset by the poor quality of the result (blurriness and bleaching where light does shine) if you are not VERY VERY careful. hence i am dissapointed with my 6630s camera. Having said this, i can see Nutzu has managed to capture some nice shots, but i cannot compare because i havent seen the raw images from his/her phone. if you can upload (www.2and2.net) the unedited, unscaled images it would be appreciated.
But for some reason, i think my phone is operating like it was intended. it has the latest firmware, and they did take their sweet time to release it, and i have had it exchanged - AND still i get the same camera quality!
so for the kids out there who want an authentic review - this is it. you'll notice the file names describe the kind of lighting and environment, just so you know. so dont get your hopes too high with regards to the camera quality, though a flash, available sepratley, should make a difference.
right click the link, select copy shortcut, then paste that into a second browser. The images will not load otherwise.

Nutzu, my pics should be working now.
yes, now i see - the NOISE!!! now to make a fair comparison between my 6630s cam and yours, you need to post the same shots with night mode on. quick!! i want to see the improvement.
http://img27.exs.cx/img27/2484/image0452yr.jpg this is with night mode, the trick is u have to hold the phone for a litle bit longer to let the lents to get ajusted with the light
