One of my hobbies is going to Changi Airport to photograph planes.:)
These are taken with my 2.1MP Canon Powershot A60, and resized.
They're only taken from the viewing gallery, so close-up shots are ruled out, but after my exams, which are coming to an end, I'll be able to take pics from a much better location, near the runway itself.:)

Here are five pics; the planes are in this order:
1. Sri Lankan Airlines, Airbus A330-200
2. Australian Airlines, Boeing 767-300ER (with a Swiss Airbus A340-300 in the background)
3. For the Nokia lovers.:D (McDonnel-Douglas MD-11 with digital zoom, colour enhanced)
4. Lion Air, McDonnel-Douglas MD-80 (an Indonesian airline)
5. BA and Qantas assortment

Ghibli,
Please go to Pan Pacific hotel and Orchard hotel and take some shots
I stayed at those hotels when I was in Singapore 1992 and 1998.
It would be really nice of you if you could do that favor for me
Thanks in advance

Ghibli,
It was nice... I went to Sentosa island, had a breakfast with an orangutang and of course Singapore Sling in Raffles Hotel.
My mom forgot her handbag in a cab with her passport, money and some other things. She was concerned that she wouldn't get her money and all those things back but while we were drinking our Singapore Sling and worried about that. To our great surprise, the taxi driver came with everything.
Asian people are very reliable.

I wished I had a telescope. It's an eclipse.
I saw some other pictures using T-adaptor, and it's so remarkable. You can actually see the mountains in the moon if zoomed 300mm.
This picture is just taken by 300mm and then cropped. that's why it's not that detail:(

sunystory@hotmail.com,
The first one is Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and I don't think no one in here really can afford that one because it cost about 420000 EUR / 522000 USD.
That car and Porsche Carrera GT are my favourite cars.
I tried to find a Carrera GT but to my great disappointment you can only find it in Stuttgart and maybe in Berlin too but those shots I took was in Munich.

Exciting700, Konica Minolta Dimage series aren't bad for slim cameras. I don't understand why you want to change to Canon when you have a similar range camera. Why not try out higher class digital camera than Ixus?
btw, the pics reminds me of the trip to Malaysia when I was 8th grade. :) :rotate:

sunystory@hotmail.com,
I know that Minolta is a good camera brand and their cameras are superd, but I wanna get myself a Canon expecially an IXUS 40 since that one is so slim and compact with a neat design;)
Very idea for portability!
My current digital is bulky with a sort of telescopic design factor:(

sunystory@hotmail.com
23-11-2004, 11:17
DiMAGE Z1 isnt bad:) I am glad that you are happy with the minolta.
If you are looking for slim ones, also consider Dimage X series. They have really small ones. But for good photography, you shouldn't go for those. To be frankly, I would rather go for samsung digimax v5(0). I can't believe that the price is around 250$ now. It's crazy. People just misvalue this camera without really knowing how V5 is supurb. They think that samsung is so bad at camera. I actually don't think so. At this price of 250$, you can't buy such a camera. I think this camera should be rated at least around 500~600$. It looks very traditional and boring, but the quality is so much ebtter. It allows you to manually chose aperture size, shutter speed, custom white balance, digitalized full manual focusing ring, exposer rate, RGB input controller and even exposering type (spot). I am just so shocked. I bought it right away to replace my subcamera (samsung digimax Kenox V4, and Sony T3->T3 i got this for winning an event. I hate T3). Why not consider V5(0), which is quite good. Many camera reviews don't rate this camera good, because they don't know how to properly use the full manual function of this camera.
Let me post some pictures taken by V5 so that you can also consider V5 in your mind.
http://kr.img.dc.yahoo.com/b8/data/samsung_g/terror2.jpg
http://kr.img.dc.yahoo.com/b8/data/samsung_g/terrorself.jpg
=>this is me :)
http://kr.img.dc.yahoo.com/b8/data/samsung_g/terror.jpg

if you want to actually start photography at a price perhaps cheaper than the Z1, you might wanna consider V5 as well. It's not that big either. It's about the size of two small computer mouses. The biggest advantage of V5 is that it has a Schneider Variogon F/2.7. It's ultra sharp for a digital camera and extremely colorful lens. (It gives you perhaps the best color reproduction at price below 500$). But you will need to get used to the manual, or at least Av priority manual function of this camera.

If you want, I can upload full sized 5megapixel resolution of one of the pic i took. Since I got this camera very recently, I am not that much used to every functions. So if I learn more, I would be able to take more pleasurable pics like my other DSLR canon

sunystory@hotmail.com,
Yeah, the Minolta Dimage Z1 isn't bad as you can see in those shots.
I took them in minimal shutter exposure. (basically the shutter just clicks in a flit second as I took those shots) (I had used auto controls for all those shots save maybe some three shots like that)
I tried using those manual settings in the numerous modes but screwed everything up abit, so I reseted my Dimage Z1 to the defaults once again:)
Thanks.
