oh! didnt know it was supposed to be posted here.:D
i meant applications, games, and stuff. its a cool forum , best i know. i donno. dont think it would be a good choice to start posting file along posts. i think sole posting is terrific. only discussion is a good idea. but if we could just include a section like this ....a seperate place where ppl can request files, users can upload them as well. but of course with moderators permission. cuz ive seen a lot of forms with adult contents. thats not permissible.

I'm not sure it would be such a good idea... it would only take a day or two before we moderators would spend all of our time here clearing out links/files that are illigal... :-/

Piracy is everywhere, why make our forum full of it?

It is not hard to go places and get games and appz. Personally I feel that that would spoil this forum and would end it legal proceedings.

Bad idea.

I agree with badger and odelsteken. I'd vote against something like this.

a2k24,
it's available on Russian Forum. :)

so now that's unfair it's available for russain users only why ????

if it's ok to put something like that in the russian forum i guess it's our right to have something like that 2

hitman, NO, not IMO. Just because they've chosen to "spoil" one forum with this doesn't mean we have to spoil this one - which the "rest of the world" visits. Like badger said, piracy is everywhere... just go to another forum/site and get what you want!

Enough Said I guess we could revisit this at a later time maybe in another 6 months to a year and see if there is a desire to change :spy:

Hmmm....I think it'd be a good idea in principal

but it would require every file uploaded to be checked by a mod, and that would take so much time.

Also it would push bandwidth through the roof.......i can imagine its aleady high enough, but with files too?!?!? Hows the site funded anyway? i dont see any external adverts.

There are a few adverts on the Russian section of the site I think.

Bandwidth could be supported by the people who's products Mobile Review recommends

If it gets the go ahead what would be the most common download?

Well until we have a full fledged apps downloads section, how about a software discussion section (No Downloads). Atleast people will know what's best for which phone, model, series etc.

If we had a section like this it would take a lot of moderation, it is not a bad idea allowing users to review applications. The problem comes when people do not follow the rules and post a link to a pirated wares.....

I think the problem would be that not all users know where to draw the line between linking to legal and illegal software...

You're right, for eg. I'm also looking for controlled reviews of stable reliable mobile related applications. How about something what the tech sites do, you guys as in experinced people review mobile applications, be it PC syncing apps or blutooth social networking apps, and just let people discuss ONLY those reviews.

This will atleast curb possible issues, and keep the threads more relavent. Plus it'll be in inline with Mobile Review norms.

EDIT: Limited quality threads will help reduce the amount of moderation required.

Chat abouting it sounds good ;)

That is where the MODs would come in and if they were to continue then they would be on notice... Right???

It wont be the mods publishing softwares to download - it would be the members. We dont have the time to go through every single link put online in the software forum, making the risk of illegal software to high IMO.

Maybe, but I still think it would give us tons of more work to do... it's pretty much to do as it is! :-/
