View Full Version : Sx2 when? guarav311?
Eldar said that the sx2 will have a swivel desgin, but that is the SK65, so not sx2. On club-siemens they said that in september siemens gonna present a high-end phone. Is that the sx2?
guarav311, do you know more. Or eldar?!
Nope, no SX2 in the upcoming months. The phone is put on low priority!

how do YOU know that..
Because I have some Dutch intelligence from a person which tests the latest
Windows and Symbian smartphones. From him I got a 7610 and P910i in the
last days. I cannot say his name or organisation but I get the most information
from them. The only thing I can say about the SX2 is what I mentioned.
i also heard that sx2 is low priority and siemens will release phones with their own OS first!!! its sad i know...
Bye
What is this HIGH-END phone that siemens is gonna intruduce in september then

sx2 is just a tweaked sx1 with normal keypad, very outdated even if it is released, do not worry about it :) their high end introduction is completely different.
gaurav311, agree with you its no longer coming to market as it will be very dated. They lost a lot of time when they switched Neo from Symbian to Siemens OS. In fact they changed so much of the concept (camera, AGPS, WiFi add-on), they probably lost a good 6 months.
Will Siemens OEM the A1000 from Motorola as the next SX2 ?
Last I saw of the high end Siemens its was all about imaging is this the same model you are expecting ? Son of Janus I think.

You know that for 3G phones: Siemens OS = Motorola OS
They licenced the technology from Motorola for 3G phones a while ago
Siemens U10 = Motorola A830
Siemens U15 = Motorola A835
I heard SX2 was canned on this very forum somewhere ;-)
I wonder what power the loverly Siemens S65? Anyone know?
I would suggest that the next 3G Siemens phone = Motorola E1000 ;-)

peterzrogers, You know that for 3G phones: Siemens OS = Motorola OS
True but before Mot was confined to selling Symbian phones only to H3G.
Now with the A1000 they can sell to others so I am thinking that Siemens may use this as an option to bring a Symbian 3G handset to market.

Delphi, the A920/A925 were exclusive deals with H3G as you say.
However the A830 and A835 were not, which is why Siemens bought up the rights and made the U10 and U15.
The A1000 is not exclusive, as you can read by other operators talking about it on the Web.
I personally don't see Siemens licensing the A1000 as its only Symbian 7.0. I can imagine Siemens wanting to go for a Symbian 8.0 device or even a Synergy powered E1000.
For my money Siemens could do a lot worse than licence then E1000. It truly rocks!!!
Then again the Siemens S65 looks pretty hot!

Delphi, yes the software engineering in that siemens division seems incompetent on producing something that works on time. new design is the oem big screen spec phone :) I think their design is still terrible on it however. They should perhaps hire external teams for this...they never get it right.
somebody said this:
Also SX2 is def being released this year not 2005 acc to Siemens
I was chatting this week with a guy on siemens support and he said that SX2 would be out this year and they wouldnt be likely to be changing the key arrangements so will stay as SX1 with refinements what ever they will be.
He said normally they give a product 1 yr from release and then bring a new model out well thats how its going to go for SX1 to SX2.
Looks like CX65 users are being given a worse deal ie they have bought their phones to pay for the development and release of its replacement.
No doubt firmware updates for CX65 will continue for some time like SX1 but not forever.
I suppose S70 or S75 will be out soon.
... Hmmm this is something else then what guarav said....
Delphi,
So Siemens will show the long mentioned ' Janus ' in September ?
Do you know if they will show U20/25 , too ?
deerman, I strongly doubt it as Siemens is in a big mess with 3G. No longer OEMing from Motorola and no internal resources for developing themselves. They have been looking for another partner on 3G but are falling a long way behind.
