Eldar,
Will Hermione be previewed at CeBit? You said yes to candybar but does it lose the flip? I am assuming it incorporates UIQ3.0 - therefore, is it one-handed operation to battle series 60 2nd edition or does it retain touchscreen? From a strategic point of view, it will be interesting to see whether UMTS functionality is included - Nokia is going "hell for leather" and I expect to see at least 3/4 more series 60 UMTS handsets launched this year. But battery life can be severly effected on 3G phones (using current chipsets) not to mention the additional graphics, sound and hard disk functionalities being introduced this year. This could possibly give people a smartphone with rubbish battery life - a lot of P-series people are business travellers and don't necessarily want to compromise on battery life. I suppose you can always choose to switch the 3G radio off (if the handset allows you) - but I would like to see an SE uber smartphone without 3G first with a 3G analogue introduced very late this year |

EldarMurtazin,
that story from Germany is the same I heard! There are some prototypes and there was a clay model. It will be UIQ 3.0. It cannot be that it is not. ![]() Hint for everybody: I won't give info either! Sorry, I respect my sources. MR |

Check the forum, search it and you will find your info. Some questions are already answered. ![]() (I think that we as forum are watched from several sides and special places. So we need to be carefull to keep the forum in tact and be the first place for news.) |

MR,
As fair as i could search my conclution is that Hermione if it's p1000 will be out q4. But since p910 is a small upgrade of p900, i think it will be on the market q3 if se want to keep their customers. |

EldarMurtazin, that seems likely.
K750i and Z800i are closer - firmware already being tested. Eldar, I'm a little confused. Is the real code name Hermione? Or Granger? I think I know a little info. about this model already.. if it's what I think it is. |

Eldar will it be 3G or 2G, also how big is the screen and last year a SE guy told me SE will release 2 smartphones, so we going to see a smartphone presented at 3GSM or Cebit?
My understanding is it will be 3G and landscape screen. Last edited by mrMobile; 07-02-2005 at 21:21.. |

Would make sense if Hermione has integrated Wifi, and become direct competitor to Motorola's next response in the Mpx touch screen series....

so the question you need to ask yourself is, which is the walkman phone, and which is the blackberry phone???
And therefore which is the candybar, and which is the slider? My thinking is that the Candybar is the blackberry one with Qwerty Keyboard, and the slider is the walkman phone ![]() Eldar don't say if I got it right or wrong, as I don't want you to get in trouble ![]() [edit] - from Reuters - The Walkman phones will also be the first networked Walkmans to use open software standards for compression and piracy protection. At the same time, Sony's Connect music store will also introduce open standard software to compress tracks and protect them against piracy, Flint said. Sony currently uses its proprietary ATRAC and MagicGate technology to do that. looks like they could be using memstick pro magicgate for the walkman phone ![]() Last edited by Dyce9984; 16-02-2005 at 14:21.. |

I would have prefered some more info on Hermione instead of those. I'm so tired of all small useless candybar phones, with animated icons or without, who cares. Give us some info on a P-series phone NOW, please . Since I started to use these kind of phones everything else is of no intrest. I've had them all, and everyone is a bit better then the last one, but there is still things missing, like 3G, WiFi and a good camera!! And a good interface to use the phone without the flip!
