It's better than bluejacking! lol
I can see people having to deactivate bluetooth or they will be constantly anoyed with incoming sensor messages. Specially those people who set a catchy message.

Hartsink, only people with nokia sensor will receive this type of messages..
and there'll be probably an option of "allow buddy messages only" etc....
start spreading the word people.. I did it already sending it to all my contact list... trying that a chain letter is created...
MR, A pitty is only Nokia devices are supported.Any device running Series60 v2 or above will work.....SX1 & Sendo X/2 included.....
Is the software viral? (can it send itslef via bluetooth to other people?)

alexandr3,
I'm curious how did u find the link ???
alexandr3
10-05-2005, 10:36
badger, yes you can send it through bluetooth. the problem is, I only can send it to 6680 phones, because there's a software for each model...
ivansergei, it was pure luck. It was released yesterday. I was looking for some other programs and find the sensor in all about symbian.

alexandr3,
Saw news on AAS too.
I was asking because Nokia didn't put the software in the phone support section...no press release at all...and wasn't any INTERNAL link on nokia.com.
Pure luck,indeed.

getdown_4ever, that's why chain letters should be created to inform our friends, and our friends's friends and so on... i did it already and 4 of my friends already have it!
You are saluted and You deserve it man. Keep it up alike. Many bundles of thanks to you Mr. Alexandr3.

will it work on the N90?
fear_samuraitor
10-05-2005, 18:40
N90 runs Symbian 60, I guess it should support it
alexandr3
10-05-2005, 21:38
dominicdiep, it's more likely N90 already have it pre-installed
alexandr3, It would be great if this is a standard app for all s60 devices from now on.....it will never take off fully until it is....
What a grreat feature to be able to communicate via IM to a friend within up to 10 metres away! If this friend has a S60 phone, bluetooth activated and the required software installed that is.
N-Gage may have been a commercial disaster for Nokia, but from learning point of view I think the project has taught them fun ways to use Bluetooth and other things (like spreading the excellent Snakes game with bluetooth)
There is now a link on Nokia.com frontpage.

Sooo... what's up with the Sensor application and S60 3rd edition?
Someone else claims having been able to download and installed it for the Nokia 5500 Sport model via Nokia Catalogs service.

Anyone? If I could get it running on my N73, I would be able to detect at least one other Sensor user... my 6630 LOL :rotate:

I'm using SubliMobi every day. It can work on many other phones than Nokia. You have a bluetooth chat and alerts when declareds friend are detected nearby.
Visit SubliMobi at http://www.sublimobi.com
The interface is very nice and fluid, have a try, it's worth it and it's FREE
